This self is never born, nor does it ever die,
nor this self, having once been, does it ever stop from being.
This self is unborn, eternal, changeless, ever itself.
This self is not destroyed when the body is destroyed.
Just as a man puts off worn-out clothes and puts on others which are new,
so the self puts off its worn-out forms and enters into those which are new.
This self weapons do not cut.
This self fire does.
This self does not burn.
This self water does not wet, and this self wind dries not.
This self cannot be cut.
This self cannot be burnt.
This self cannot be wetted.
This self cannot be dried.
Changeless, all-pervading, immovable, this is the unalterable self.
